The Ox is the second of all of the zodiac animals. It is said that the Jade Emperor said the order of the cycle would be decided by the order in which the animals arrived to his party. The Ox was set to be first until the Rat tricked him by asking for a ride, and just as they arrived, the Rat jumped down and got in before the Ox, hence the Ox becoming the second animal.

It's been a bit of a weird year hasn't it? None of us have been able to go about our normal lives like we usually would with the pandemic going on. Regardless of this, most of us are looking forward to a return to normality again, and we certainly can't wait to make a bit of a song and dance about it and meet up with our nearest and dearest.

Dr Martens have a seriously strong roster when it comes to collaborative efforts, as do Needles. Both have an impressive history when it comes to working alongside other forward thinkers, making for some truly great collections. It's always great to see two forward-thinking brands combine to create something truly special, we've seen our fair share of that over the years at Wellgosh. What's even better is when two of our favourite, forward-thinking brands collaborate to create something.

Here at Wellgosh, we have had the pleasure of stocking Stussy for over 20 years, some say we are the original stockists of the brand outside of London too. We have seen the surf/skate style, west-coast US-inspired brand move from strength to strength and cement it's iconic status during this time. The Spring/Summer '21 collection has landed here, and we'd like to showcase some of our personal favourites from what is a great collection yet again from Stussy.

It's been a bit of a wild year for Dunks, the Swoosh has given us some real bangers, and it looks like things won't be slowing down any time soon... The next update for the Dunk pulls up in Atomic Pink & University Red, or as it's being named, Pink Pig.

Dr Martens have been a mainstay in so many subcultures all over the globe for decades now, and we’re delighted to have the brand back on our roster this season. Originating from Wollaston, in the Wellingborough area of Northhamptonshire, only a stones throw away from us, Dr Martens have gone on to become one of the most iconic footwear brands out there, and that is certainly no easy feat to achieve.

Music and fashion aren’t so very different beasts. Both are creative outlets for those involved in the making of. Both form the foundation blocks that help grow a subculture. Both are subjective… to a degree. Whether you like an album, or dislike a jacket, quality is quality, and there is no denying that.

After the recent release and success of Nike's SB Dunk Low Pro 'Pink Pig' that took inspiration and it's nickname from Porsche's 1971 917, and made its name in the Le Mans 24 Hour endurance race, Nike SB draw inspiration once more from a vintage Porsche 917, this time the iconic 1970 Gulf Race Car. Dressing up the Dunk Low in a Blue Chill, White and Safety Orange colourway with an embroidered '58' sign off on the heel panel, the similarities are more than obvious.

We’re sure you all know that we have a pretty special relationship with Cav Empt here at Wellgosh. If you’ve been kind enough to pop into our Leicester store in the past, then we’re sure you’ve seen some of our guys and gals donning it, and if you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting the centre of the universe that is our store on the Leicester High Street, then we’re also sure that you’ve seen us rave about Cav Empt online over the years.

We have been spreading #WellgoshLove through our social media channels for many years now. Maharishi, have been fighting the cause for peace and justice since their carnation back in 1994. A match made in heaven.

Wellgosh warmly welcomes Powers Supply Co. to our formidable brand list. Powers Supply Co. is the brainchild of Eric Elms, an NY based artist probably most famous for his interpretation of the World War II meme ‘Killroy Was Here’. Elms has worked with the likes of Supreme, Brain Dead and SSUR to name just a few. Not so long ago we carried his collaboration with CLOT Inc. which saw him place his version of Killroy above the CLOT logo with the character’s signature nose obscuring the CLOT Inc. branding.

The Nike Air Max 95, the 110, whatever you want to call it, it’s instantly recognisable. Originally developed to act as a mirror of the human body, with the midsole acting as the spine, the panels as the muscles and laces as the ribs, it’s become a testament to what trainers mean to us all. Because it was originally developed as a performance running shoe, it utilises an Air Max technology sole, and this is just one of the reasons that this silhouette has etched it’s name in to the hall of fame for trainer aficionados.

Adidas certainly ha a knack for combining classic silhouettes with history and heritage, with the likes of the City Series, in particular, coming to mind. Over the years we’ve had the pleasure of being able to get our hands on the likes of the Brussels, Blackburn, Munchen, and most recently the Wien from the City Series pack - the list is pretty extensive. Some of you may also remember the event we put on with Adidas to celebrate the launch of the Malmo back in 2019, good times. This season sees a trifecta of Spanish heritage make its way to the heart of Leicester in the form of the Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona.

Last year, we warmly welcomed Admiral Sporting Goods Co. to our brand roster here at Wellgosh, and we're now delighted to announce our latest collaboration, which has seen us team up with Admiral and illustrator Daren Newman to bring you two short-sleeved T-Shirts. You wonderful bunch know how much we love giving a good history lesson on some of our write-ups, so here's a little history on Admiral for some context:

Carhartt WIP are on the podium in the race to deliver first their Spring 2021 collections.
